After two days of suspension, the traffic on 300 kilometer long Srinagar-Jammu National Highway was restored for one-way traffic as improved across the State.
According to a Traffic Official, the traffic was allowed from Jammu side towards Srinagar and there was no major obstruction in the plying of vehicles along the strategic highway throughout the day.
He said that by 1900 hours, 2145 LMVs and 2170 HMVs crossed Jawahar tunnel towards Kashmir and more vehicles were on way to the Srinagar. The official said that one-way traffic plan will continue tomorrow on the Highway and nobody would be allowed to come from opposite direction.
After days of intermittent rainfall and snow, the weather in State including in Kashmir Valley improved on Wednesday. Since early morning, the sky was clear of clouds and people had a sigh of relief due to bright sunshine. The weather is expected to remain dry in coming days, according to an official of MeT Department
